Kevin preparing to teach his night class

Despite never really being “into” math at a young age, he always excelled in the subject. By high school he accepted his fate as the resident math help and aided the school with peer tutoring and even joined the traveling math team for competitions. At university, Kevin received work-study compensation for tutoring all levels of undergraduate math from college algebra through differential equations and complex analysis. He was also inducted into the honorary mathematics fraternity, Pi Mu Epsilon. During his final two years as an undergraduate, Kevin traveled to multiple mathematics conferences and gave talks on topics including, but not limited to, the mathematics of toilet paper. His senior year he received the Wilbur and Burdella Stuckey Carl Mathematics Prize for outstanding achievement in the mathematics.

After receiving his BS in Mathematics, Kevin was offered a scholarship at the University of Akron to continue his education and teach simultaneously. In 2010 he earned his MA in theoretical mathematics and has been teaching at universities while tutoring individuals ever since.

Great experience for my 9th grader! He advised that after his session he understood how to break down quadratic equations.

Kevin Kreighbaum has been a blessing and a math grade savior! I cannot say enough good things about our experience with him and Tutor With the Best! Although the tutoring is virtual Kevin has it nailed down the process so that it is incredibly effective. Kevin has an easygoing style that puts my son at ease. My son’s confidence and understanding has improved exponentially. The math tutoring quality was the priority but Kevin has also been flexible and accommodating when I incorrectly scheduled sessions. My only wish is that we had found Tutor With the Best sooner!

I met with Mr. Kreighbaum several times over this past 6 weeks as he was tutoring me in pre Calculus at the University of Florida. He played a vital role in my success in this class and offered Skype based sessions while he worked problems out on big white board. Additionally, he was very flexible and able to work around a busy college student's schedule.

Douglas tutoring at age 17

Douglas tutoring at age 17

This picture is of Douglas was when he was 17 years old; he was tutoring even then (and claims to remember it was Algebra). Once he left school, he moved away from tutoring for a while but when he came back to get his degree at community college at age 48, he found math had mostly left his head and he had to start all over again. Douglas went to all his daughter’s friends and asked “What techniques are you using to get straight As?” and happily they shared their tricks and tips with him so that now he can share them with his students.

Douglas went on to earn his AA in 7 months, his BA in another 1 year and applied to and eventually was accepted into a graduate program. Douglas received his MA in Clinical Psychology in 2 ½ more years and moved to the College of Education to get his PhD in a math based research program.

Throughout all that time, Douglas picked up tutoring again while teaching various math and research classes in university. He worked with all ages and all levels (normal, AP, and IP) tutoring math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus I & 2 and statistics.

Check out his bio to learn more about him and to see what his students think of his style and methodology.

Dr. Lunsford did a great job in helping me understand difficult statistic questions. I remember Dr. Lunsford saying that he would help me get an A. I had failed the class twice before I saw him. I’m glad to say I received an A in the class this semester. I highly recommend that you see Dr. Lunsford if you are struggling.

-Sam E.

Dr. Lunsford is an excellent tutor for any type of math at any age level. My two boys had a low to mid B in AP geometry. One is in 9th grade and the other is in 10th. Their goal is to finish with straight A’s every semester. We hired Dr Lunsford to assist them in understanding how to work through the geometry problems better, and he did. Both of my boys finished with an A in the class. My boys stated that Dr. Lunsford is very smart and can work through any problems you put in front of him. They also believe the way he runs the tutor session is very effective.

-Nicole M.

Prof Lunsford had his first tutoring session with my daughter. She can’t wait for the next one - math is no longer stressful!

-Kristen C.

Dr. Lunsford is an amazing tutor. He was able to help me with GRE math and equations that I had completely forgotten about or was never taught in high school! He broke down equations and retaught me easier ways to solve difficult problems that my teachers had neglected to teach me during my primary school years. He charges a fair price for tutoring and provided homework for me when we weren't meeting. For anyone with a "math phobia", a strong dislike for math, or who has extreme anxiety with standardized test taking, he is the tutor for you!

Dr. Frampton & MATH

I give the highest recommendation for this tutor. We worked with him for over 2 years in a variety of subject. He listened to what my daughter needed and helped provide clarity on high school assignments and overall concepts in Algebra, Calculus, Intro to Chemistry, Advanced Physics, and Organic Chemistry. My daughter found him very friendly, approachable, extremely knowledgeable and enjoyed working with him in person (pre-COVID) and via Zoom. I found him professional, timely, direct, and a pleasure to work with.

Dr. Frampton is one of the best professors I’ve ever met . His methods of explanation makes complex ideas seem so understandable.

He also very funny and makes each lesson fun while learning.

Something that I like is that he allows me to explain my thought process and if I don’t know something he will explain it right away but if I do know he will cheer me on and celebrate me, which makes me feel good!

He’s also been filling in the gaps in places where I needed extra assistance, and I’m so glad I found him! I definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a tutor.
